I was born in Shanghai, spent my childhood in Canada, and currently tend a garden full of paper botanicals in California. My work often combines different weights and colours of crepe paper over a wire, cotton or papier-mâché frame to build the beautiful flora that you see. Typically each item takes 15-20+ hours of work to complete in order to capture the details you would see in the natural world combined with a touch of imagination from my dreams. My goal is to capture the beauty of life in paper and to encourage my viewer to stop and smell the roses.
Most recently, I was featured on VSCO Journal Paper Flowers and on Craft Industry Alliance's 11 Paper Artists Inspiring Us on Instagram. Other places that have featured my artwork include Eat Sleep Draw, Creative Boom, Castle in the Air, and SF MOMA Submission Friday.
