On Ffern Summer 25: Trust yourself
Not everybody got it. But I did.
Grapefruit and blood orange — bright and sparkly out of the bottle — appeared just before the cardamom, marigold, and bergamot tucked themselves in behind. Not the brightness of lemonade, but something more supple. Ripened warmth. A softened citrus, steeped in memory.
Later came red cedar, jasmine, and a drift of peach.
Some said they couldn’t find the citrus. But I trust what my nose — and my sensory training — has taught me: that scent reveals itself in layers, in moments. That citrus doesn’t always need to shout. Sometimes it lingers like sunlight, glinting through cardamom and marigold, whispering through peach water.
Artist Fumi Imamura has created a beautiful collage and watercolor on translucent paper named “Momo” for this release (pictured above).
That’s what Summer 25 is: complex and layered. You won’t get all the notes at once. It takes a few days to fully settle in — but that’s part of the pleasure. The discovery.
I smelled it. I loved it.
And I’m keeping this one.
