Fruit Dreams / 果梦

Art

The sweetness of fruit is always fleeting. A peach ripens in the heat of summer, a persimmon glows for a brief moment before winter, a raspberry softens into sweetness and then is gone.

Fruit Dreams / 果梦 gathers these moments and holds them still—paper worlds where color, texture, and memory stay suspended in time.

The works draw on both East Asian and European traditions: a glowing persimmon inspired by Ohara Koson’s kachō-e prints, peaches with painted leaves echoing Chen Zihfo’s gorgeous ink paintings, and raspberries recalling the botanical watercolors of Redouté. Handmade artisanal papers from the East shimmer alongside European crepe and painted Japanese air-dry clay, each piece layering paint, paper and sculpture.

Some of the art inspiration for the Fruit Dreams / 果梦 collection

The collection is an expression of my own life and memories lived both in the East and the West.

Each sculpture is one of a kind, signed with 夢—the traditional Chinese character for “dream”—and made by hand in California.
